Our jeep picks you up at your hotel for
the discovery of Phuket with its unknown beaches, banana, pineapple and rubber
plantations. We then head over the Sarasin bridge where we proceed towards the Tone Prai
waterfall. You can have a nice swim or just enjoy your lunch here.
In the afternoon we will arrive at our beautiful beach bungalow
resort where we will spend the night.
Day 2: Khao Lak (NP) to Khao Sok National
Park (+/-) 100 KM
After breakfast we will drive to Takua
Pa, Thailand's first foreign port. Then it's time for our appointment with an elephant
which drags big logs all day long and appreciates some variation by taking you on its
back.
We go on into the mountains driving along steep mountain passes with
deep ravines gaping at us until we arrive at the Khao Sok National Park, South Thailand's
largest rainforest.
We explore a few trails in the park which are a habitat for many
rare and unusual plants and animals. We spend the night in authentic tree top bungalows.
Day 3: Khao Sok to Koh Samui (+/-) 200 KM
First, we visit a small cave temple staffed by a hermit-monk.
Through a landscape of strange limestone formations we drive on to the Chieo Lan Lake
where we enjoy the spectacular view.
At Donsak pier we take the car ferry to Koh Samui, the coconut
island with its long, clean, white sandy beaches. We will sleep in fully serviced
air-conditioned bungalows by the beach.
Day 4: Koh Samui to Surat Thani (+/-) 100 KM
In the morning, we visit
Samui's Big Buddha and you get the chance to admire "Grandmother and Grandfather
Rock" between Chaweng and Lamai Beaches. There is also time to drive to a viewpoint
where you can overlook the whole island and unwind at the natural beauty of the Tarim
waterfall.
Later we'll leave the Island for Surat Thani, the town of 'good
people', where we dine at a riverbank restaurant. We stay overnight in a first class
hotel.
Day 5: Surat Thani to Koh Lanta (+/-) 200 KM
After breakfast we go to the
monkey-training school where you can view dozens of wild monkeys trained as coconut
collectors.
We then proceed to the natural jungle jacuzzi at the Klong Thom hot
springs and then onto the Thung Thieo nature trail where more than 300 different species
of birds have been sighted. After this relaxing and therapeutic experience, we go on
towards the dazzling island of Koh Lanta.
This Island is positioned far enough from the tourist belt to
preserve its rustic ambiance. We stay in spacious Thai-style beachside cottages.
Day 6: Koh Lanta to Krabi (+/-) 100 KM
Exploration of this undeveloped island where you still can wander
along deserted beaches or through villages untouched by mass tourism. We then move on to
the impressive Wat Tham Sua, the Tiger Cave Temple, one of South-Thailand's most renowned
meditation centers. Before supper, there's still time for a traditional Thai massage in
Krabi Town. We stay overnight in a nice, cozy hotel.

Day 7: Krabi to Phuket (+/-) 200 KM
Krabi is generally regarded as one of the
most beautiful provinces in (South-) Thailand. You'll soon discover why: the greatest
hospitality, beautiful beaches, a luxuriant vegetation and relatively few
people. After leaving Krabi behind us we'll stop at a romantic little park called 'Than
Bok Korani' in Ao Luk.
From here we will take a longtail boat through the mangrove swamps
in search for prehistoric cave paintings and the nearby Dark and Lod Caves after which we
return to Phuket.
